Materials:  Red oxide & white oil paint on canvas

Music:  Once Soundtrack

Thoughts:  This is one of my first portraits I worked on.  I’ve always liked depicting the human face, but working on Ben for a longer period of time showed me how deeply fulfilling it can be.  I got to know him better.  Wondered what things he would pursue later on in life.  Thought of his brother, his parents and so on.  When I’m done with a portrait, I’ve established a relationship with it.  I’ve invested in it.

  1. Its a great art piece Mic! I have known you for years but today I realized you have such great talent hidden. The pictures are lively and especially the eyes…. I love it. Great work Mic! Keep it up.

  2. Thanks for the encouragement, Radhi! I enjoy doing it.
